Her multifaceted career includes working as a freelance viola player and improviser, creating, organising and facilitating for workshops, concerts and education, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
As a live performer and studio musician, she has participated in a wide range of projects including solo live improvised music (Paradigm Festival, Living Room Concerto), original own compositions (Vertex, Dawn Walkers), cross-genre, improvised and multidisciplinary music (Unison, Il Trio Onirico, Vertex), early music ensembles (Violetta Club Ensemble among others), orchestra playing (Sinfonietta de Lausanne, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo). She works regularly with live composers (Farbenfroh, Setareh Nafisi, Nicholas Thayer, Thijs de Vlieger) and plays with the Noordpool Orkest.
Melisa has been active in several community-art projects, participating, leading and/or developing workshops, such as Grenzeloze Muziek for CityProms-Embrace, De Vrolijkheid and AmaZonArt. She co-produced and curated the Living Room Concerto and the Open Podium at Floreshuis.
Co-creator and co-manager of the non-profit organisation The World We Live In,
developing and leading the educational programme at the Prins Claus Conservatory.
Melisa is originally from Argentina. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola from Universidad Nacional
de Cuyo (Argentina), a Concert de Diplôme at the Haute Ecole de Musique (Switzerland),
international exchange student at the Conservatoire Régional de Versailles (France), and a Master
in New Audiences and Innovative Practice from the Prins Claus Conservatorium (The Netherlands).
